Benjamin Hosking is an Australian-Canadian-American writer-director based in Los Angeles. His narrative films explore themes of mental health, sexuality, and emotional vulnerability. Using a humanistic approach, he works across genres ranging from psychological thrillers to coming-of-age dramas.

His feature-length documentary about the community surrounding the board-game and hobby of Warhammer is currently filming. Based on the hit short film “South Central Warhammer,” it expands the scope and cast of subjects and explores the way hobbies like this provide an antidote to loneliness. His psychological erotic thriller “Exile” will shoot in 2027. He recently completed a short dramedy, “I Need a Friend.”

Benjamin earned his MFA in directing from the AFI Conservatory in 2022. He was a 2019 recipient of Tufts University’s P.T. Barnum Young Alum in Entertainment Award. 

His AFI thesis film and LA Weekly Must-See “And I Miss You Like a Little Kid” shines a light on isolation and domestic abuse during COVID. The film premiered at Dances With Films in 2022.
